Your privacy choices

This page is the how-to companion to our Privacy Policy: for each choice the policy gives you, here is where to find it in the app. We have no accounts, and your badge data stays on your device.

In short

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Badge data (including tag contents), account labels, categories, snapshots, wallpapers and preferences stay on your device.
Every online report (diagnostics, unknown-SKU reports, push registration, device verification, firmware updates) can be switched off in one step.

Switch off all online reports

Open Settings → About → Withdraw consent. Every online report stops immediately and push registration is disabled on this device; your local badge data is untouched. Any device token we hold is cleared on the next successful sync, and we ask for your consent again before the next use.

Turn notifications off

Settings → Notifications turns off all push, or only the activity news (promotional). Banners, sounds and lock-screen display are controlled in iOS Settings → Notifications → QiGuang.

Erase data on this device

Clear badge library: Settings → About → Erase data → Clear badge library. A snapshot is saved first and can be restored from Settings → Backup → Snapshots.
Erase everything: Settings → About → Erase data → Erase everything. Snapshots, accounts, categories, wallpaper and preferences go with it, and it cannot be undone; the install identifier is regenerated.
Deleting the app also deletes all of this local data.

Want a copy first? Settings → Backup → Export all exports your local data (optionally encrypted).

Turn system permissions off

Bluetooth, NFC and Photos (write-only) can be switched off at any time in iOS Settings → QiGuang; only the matching feature stops working. We do not use them while you are not using those features.

Delete server-side records

Diagnostics are tied to a randomly generated install identifier and are kept for no longer than 90 days. To have them deleted earlier, email privacy@solarcandies.xin with the install identifier shown in Settings → About. It contains no name, account, phone number or device serial number. We delete the records tied to that identifier.

What we do not do

We do not collect your name, contact details, precise location (GPS), photo library contents, clipboard contents or advertising identifiers.
No third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, no cross-app tracking, no user profiles.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. Apart from the device token and notification payload that Apple Push Notification service (APNs) needs in order to deliver a notification, we do not share it with third parties.

How long we keep things

Diagnostics, SKU reports, push registration and firmware download records: no longer than 90 days. Catalogue data and StarBox device registrations are excepted, as they support the public catalogue and device authorisation.
Network address (IP): kept with diagnostics, no longer than 90 days, used only for abuse prevention, device verification and troubleshooting.
Website visits: recorded as a one-way hash, with no raw IP address, and kept for no longer than 365 days.

Children

The app is made for general game players and is not designed for children under 14. We do not collect personally identifying information. If you are a minor, please use it with a guardian's guidance.

How this page relates to the policy

This page explains how to use the choices described in our Privacy Policy; it does not change the policy. The Privacy Policy itself is published in Chinese at /privacy and is the governing text. Whenever the policy is updated, the app shows it to you again and asks for your consent.
